A Nashville backyard people actually sit in

Back gardens tend to get left until last. The lawn runs right up to the wall, there is nowhere to sit that is not in full sun, and the beds are whatever the last owner put in.

The work is straightforward and physical: strip out what is not working, fix the soil, set the beds where they will be seen from the kitchen window and the door, and plant with an eye on how big things get in three years rather than how they look on the day.

Our own crew does the planting, and the plants come from the center on Donelson Pike, so you can see exactly what is going in before it goes in the ground.
